Stihl 064av bar size?

Afternoon all,

 

Just wondering if the 064av can handle a 30" bar?

 

Its good with the 25" just wondering on thoughts on the 30"

 

or for a 30" bar would you go for a bigger saw? obvioursly 30" + you would go for a bigger saw

my 064av appears to have a fresh piston and cylinder on aswell before you think its old and tired

 

oregon 36" bars look cheap but thats pushing it

would have thought it would be OK with a 30", I use a 36" on my 660 and seems to cope alright!

i got a 064av new pot piston, runs 36 bar, just dont hammer the throttle, use conscientiously, will be fine, swap to small bar when you can i.e 25"

Used to mill with an 064 with a 36in bar - no problems.
