So, od little Peziza, dont think its hares ears what do you think? and what of this bolete, on beech. the last two images are really odd, They errupted from soil but I dont think they are fungi, I think they are some form of algea, they had no obvious connection/rooting point and the texture of seaweed/kelp:001_huh:

Tony,

1. I think it's an Otidea species, maybe O. alutacea, but to be sure : microscope.

2. Probably Boletus radicans.

3. Not a lichen, liverwort or algae sensu stricto (= in a strict sense), but a colony of cyanobacteria also known as blue-green algae.

Obviously a fair splattering of radicans about at the moment.

I put a gallery together yesterday morning.

i like the shot set up, illustrates the views in one, look closley and youll see the exposed mycelium too:thumbup1:

Cutting some cherry regrowth today on an old stump near salford uni to stop the muggers hiding in it:001_rolleyes:, came across these two fungs hiding together

 

I can identify the Xylaria longipes (i think) but what is the other one?

 

Looks like a young panic Gano, but it doesn't quite show it in the pics but the white bit was actually pink??

 

Surrounding area was Sorbus, Acer, more Prunus, Ulmus, Betula, more Prunus and lots of weeds!!
