Hi, was content with being an anonymous member but thought I would share a couple of pics of a collapsed 700 yr old oak we cleared up recently, with the assistance of probably the best crane driver we have ever met...great days work.

only a couple of pics after the work was done, none during sorry..up until then we were very busy, but you can see the cavity in the trunk. Great clients as well, lots of tea and sandwiches etc...can't beat that.

700 years old!

Must be the last of the ancient oaks.

Nice pics pity you didnt have any before shots.

Welcome btw :001_smile:

apologies...may be a victim of the old "believe all you hear" affliction..am open to suggestions of a more accurate age.

I do have a couple of short vids of the last 2 lifts, we lifted a 7200kg lump out of the barn after finishing the takedown...no vid of that though, sorry...not very good at this am I? :)

thanks for the welcome by the way. Too much interesting stuff on this site

Welcome!

Great pic's, are you on the hook?

thank you, yes thats me on the hook but I didn't do the takedown...I was groundie / up and downie strop attach boy. Have done very little in the way of crane work at the moment but have dabbled and hope to do more when the chance arises.
