Armillaria mellea panic fruiting on multi stemmed Ash stump. First set of pics taken 20/9/11. Second set 22/9/11.

Pics were taken during my Heathland Course after a gentleman claimed there were no fungi that would grow on heaths due to their acid soils.

This could be Schizopora paradoxa, a resupinate poroid fungus looking like and often mistaken for a resupinate dentate fungus or fungus with spines.
