If I'm a 6ft 8" dwarf, you're a 5ft 8" pixie!

 

I should point out that the tree I'm leaning against is a full 12-13 metres without so much as a twig, going onto a total height of at least 30-35 metres (the boule continues up straight until the last 3-4m).

 

Stunning estate - trees like you've never seen.

These are great pics. This is my first forum posting.

 

I walked through Yester last week end and confirm how many huge trees they have.

 

We came across one oddity and my google searches to date have not provided any info. We came across a mature oak that was grafted onto elm root stock. There was much elm growth all around the tree base. I cant confirm what type of oak but slender and more delicate leaves. I di not take a photo but could...

 

Did you see this tree? Do you know any reason why oak would be grafted onto elm.
