My exciting news...

I just thought I'd post a random thread sharing my exciting news for this August with you all.

I'm flying out to Adelaide, AUS on August 11th to take on a full time job offer I recieved from a what sounds and looks like a rather large and friendly company with a good amount of work coming in, based near the Coast of Glenelg as a Climber / Groundie.

I really cannot wait, it has been all booked and ready for about 3 weeks now but the days are going so slow at the minute and I just want to get on that plane!! Ha Ha.

I'm currently going with a 12 month Working Holiday Visa which should do me well and then hopefully if I really enjoy it over there which I'm sure I will, I'll be looking for sponsorship from them to stay over there! If they still want me that is :thumbup1:

Working during their summer at what sometimes hits 40 degrees will be the biggest killer I think I'll ever experience.

I think this is one hell of an opportunity for me as I'm still young with no big commitments and hopefully this is the start of the rest of my life...!

Anyway, yeah... I just thought I'd share that with you all.

If you want something... go get it

Thanks

I spent a couple of weeks in Adelaide in 2003 while i was traveling through oz, went to Glenelg a few times it was really nice. I think the Rodney Fox Shark Museum was in Glenelg which is why i went there the first time.

In general i really liked Adelaide, it had a good feel to it, friendly people, good climate (cooler in winter months) but still baking in the summer by all accounts.

Good luck with your move.

They call it the retirement city, very laid back and chilled out. There's some excellent museums and Glenelg is choice. There's also Kangaroo Island and I think you can go out shark diving from Adelaide too. I'm sure you'll have a cracking time out there.
