Aerial rescue/Access lines??

Im the company owner and main climber.

when i started the company 3 years ago it was just me and a part time groundy most of the time.

if we had a large dismantle a third guy might be brought in who my or may not have had any climbing experience at all - never mind a ticket.

 

for most small companies needs must.

margins are often tight, the boss simply can't afford a climber or afford to train one up

Then theres the added presure of once trained up using that member of staff in climbing operations in order to build their competance in a tree - because this takes time slows production in the short term and therefor costs even more money

 

albeit short sited - completely understandable

 

we've slowly grown and now there are four of us full time.

when i started in arb i was given a chance to climb and time was invested in me. So as weve added staff of differing levels of (Deemed) ability and competance ive made sure that i've invested that time back into my employees.

 

Now we have three good climbers (including myself)

This might be seen as beyond nesesary but climbers often make better groundies (IME) as they have an understanding of whats going on up in the air and i know that for any scenario theres at least one person that can save the other.

 

I think the investment is worth it - notust to tick boxes but to get home safely.
