Im having a hard time with storage for machines and accessing sites, Wondering if a narrow set of tracks powered by remote caravan mover motors could piggy back a chipper or stump grinder that had its original chaiss removed. The unit would be no higher than its own tracks and could also be used as a barrow or even the base for a tower for hedge cutting given a bit of time and effort.

Im not an engineer but when I look at some of the tools and equipment we buy it makes me wonder if the people designing them make a poor job so each year they can tweek it and we'll all stump up some more cash.

The difference in price between a towable Timberwolf and tracked is about 10k you would think that for that sort of money you would be able to use the tracked chassis for other tools in the range. Stihl have done a similar thing with the combi system when are the chipper and stump grinder manufacturers going to catch on , or is it going to be us that design it in the pub and build it in the shed

What do you all think ( feel free to take the Mickey) I've got wide shoulders:001_rolleyes:

I've thought the same thing mate I'm quite new in business and find it hard deciding what to buy we've been through a stage where we needed a 4 wheel drive and nearly bought one then a stage where we needed a little tracked platform and then a tracked chipper same story but we've got through it and still have that money we didn't spend I'd hate to buy a bit of kit and it's sitting about doing nowt so the universal idea would be awesome
