Anybody know the weight of smiley double cab transit?

Hi guys I did have a search for this which was unsuccessful but I would like to know what I can tow and legally carry in the back. Thanks in advance

Our ones are 2330KG tare and the gross train weight is 5450KG so we can sort of carry 3500KG Gross so only about 1100KG legally with driver and the total trailer gross weight of 2450KG BUT I think you can carry more on the trailer as long as you dont have the transit fully loaded. thats on our 90 and 100 hp 350s

Put it on a weighbridge.

 

Include driver and whatever tools/passengers/dogs you normally carry.

 

My doublecab smiley face transit with ply chip box and kit etc weighed 2660kg empty.

Ours is a little newer but we still have the same problem = 2800 kg men and tools in van.

Mine is about 2540-2580 empty (double cab smiley with cage and ply). max weight is 3500 so can carry 900/1000kg give or take legally. Depending on your licence you can tow up to 750kg (post 97), so total legal gross road weight is 4250

The towing weight has to be wrong if its a 350 rear wheel drive all of ours are GTW 5450KG.

 

We take out the rear seats for room for tools BTW.

So how much can I tow with the back at full weight

 

Find the weight plate, I think its in the drivers door frame area?

 

There will be 4 numbers stamped on it.

 

One will be gross vehicle weight - 3500 kg

one will be gross train weight - i thought it was 5500 but I could be wrong

 

The other two will be max axle weights, so both smaller than 3500, the lowest one will be front axle, higher one rear axle.

 

You cant exceed any of those numbers, so subtract the GVW from the GTW and that gives you the max towing weight.
