HSE guidelines as follows.

 

Design A, for experienced operators on the ground.

 

Design C, for aerial work and inexperienced operators on the ground.

 

When attending a course the instructor has no knowledge of the candidates experience until assessed throughout the course.

 

So, in other words common sense dictates C's for assessments. In any case, C's are safer because of other people with saws working around you so worth the extra weight. :001_smile:

Common sense yes.

other operators working around you no.

the thought behind the C's is that if your saw gets caught on them and the trouser leg rotates all of the leg is protected.

 

most people have good common sense, but some don't.

 

When making coffee you know you shouldn't scold the granuals :lol:
