We have several different organisations, the Arb. Association, which has the Approved Contractors scheme, the ISA is relatively small here but is the same as the rest of the world, then various other bodies which are more forestry related. Clients on th whole rarely ask which body you're affiliated to, tho the municipal sector prefer the AA Approved Contractors.

I'm ISA certified,I got the cert as it was a prereqisite for an Arborist in the area I work in Canada.I took a month off and studied for six hours a day, really took it seriously.

But what has annoyed me lately is the offter that the ISA allow's holders of the "European Treeworker" cert to get an ISA cert for just a payment to the ISA.No exam,no providence of time spent in the industry.Since Alex Shigo passed on,it seems that the ISA has become more focused on revenue gathering. Its just the way I feel anout it.
