Get some kumho KL71's John, great ride and better in snow and mud than a non unidirectional tyre sucg as the bfg, Quieter too I have been well impressed with mine. I cant vouch for longevity but they are a well recognised brand so shouldn't be bad.

ONe of the benefits of BFGs is that they are a division of michelin (basically the off road part of the company) and hence have the pedigree of the worlds best tyre manufacturer, with all the knowledge that brings, as well as unrivalled longevity....which is probably why the utilities use them.

I thought the utilities used them because they are an endorsed factory option!

 

as for unrivalled longevity... not sure id put money on that these days.

 

IMO the non-siped nature of the tread make them daft on road in the wet. better tyres out there without having to pay the scene premium. to each his own though
