I need some trees dismantled in Tadley, Hampshire

Firstly apologies to the mods if this, my first post, is in the wrong place or unacceptable for any reason.

I’m actually a private punter with some work that needs doing and rather than accidentally stumble across any local “accidents’r’us” cowboys I thought I’d ask the experts.

It’s in the Tadley, Berkshire/Hampshire border area and it is to dismantle/fell six or so trees, 5/6 medium oaks and a tulip tree. Access is good, not near any boundaries or cables. Obviously I’m no groundie but I can clear the brash and handle the bucking afterwards so nothing to take off site and no significant clean up required.

There is no desperate urgency but I’d like to get it done this season.

Drop me a PM if interested and I’ll respond. I’m out and about a fair bit so it might be a day before I can respond.

Great forum by the way. I’ve learned loads lurking here – mainly how little I really do know unfortunately!

Hi DJM,

I'm sure you'll get many good contacts from here, and probably more local to you, but you could also check out the following link for 'ARB' accredited contractors in your area:

Directory of Tree Surgeons - Arboricultural Association

Good luck, and hope the job goes well!

Paul (I manage the scheme for the Association)

Guys I've been overwhelmed by responses. Many thanks to everbody who got back. I'm working though the replies in order 'cos it seems the only fair way to do it.

I'm just sorry that I don't need more work done.

Didn't see a donate button on the website (feel like I should pay something for this) so I'll donate to the FR Jones climber appeal instead if thats OK.

Thanks again.

(Just as a thought, there must be more people like me around, who care enough to make sure a job gets done properly but don't know how to find somebody who knows what they are doing. Arbtalk comes up pretty high on any tree surgeon google search, so would some sort of "If you are a prospective customer and you want to find a tree surgeon then start here" page that leads to a members list or something work?)

I have set similar up in the firewood forum, which does seem to be working as a few guys have already made firewood sales. unfortunately only half the people who said they would have a listing actually have signed up, so im out of pocket on that project so dont have any plans just yet to do the same for tree surgeons....although its a great idea and one id like to carry out.

Sorry for delay in reply. I mean if somebody is 'looking for a tree surgeon' on, say, google then would a thread on here with a similar title be flagged up by certain buzz words so bringing people to here? I'm probably seriously over-simplifying but if one person found us that way then won't others?

I am shocked that people who expressed an interest did not go through with it. When we signed up we were short on logs and did not really need more business but I felt since I had gained a great deal from arbtalk and should give something back. If anyone is teetering on the edge get it done from acorns mighty oaks grow and the more you support it the better it will get. I am sure steve spends a huge amount of time and resources keeping the site running get your pennies out. :thumbup1:
