help working next to powerlines

hi guys.

 

 

got a sicky to remove on friday. its 3meters away from a live power line. do you reckon it would be okay to carry out the work.

 

if its any help the power cable is to a house. NEDL (power people) were ment to shroud it. however they havent been.

 

any advice or tips on working next to a powerline would be great thanks

Easy; DON'T. Unless it's safe enough to do and there's absolutely no chance of anything going wrong. You might only get the one chance if something does go wrong so just get the fuse pulled if there is even a possibility of a branch, rope etc coming into contact with the conductors. It's difficult to say without actually seeing the site etc but, having seen enough fatalities, serious accidents and near misses, I'd just play safe.
