Tried to search but forum says yew is too short a word :001_rolleyes:

 

I have a few yews of varying size to take down. I also have a dozen big rounds.

 

What's the best market for this timber? I'll give eBay a go selling the branches to wood turners, but what about the larger rounds and a ten foot 16" diameter butt?

The 10' butt will be of interest to sawmills. The rest is probably worth what the equivalent firewood is worth, unless you dry and wax it ready for turning, then you may get around £10/ cubic foot.

you can try english woodlands at cocking nr midhurst for the sawlog

Palletised transport doesn't cost that much for slabs, if you are interested in buying any. I really do have some very wide and clear boards. :thumbup1:

 

could you tell me the size of the board thickness ect cheers lee:thumbup1:
