Spalted Beech

I have 3x 3.6m lengths of wind blown beech which I can see some spalting in the ends, they are 60-70cm diameter on average. Would 2" be the the best thickness to plank into for air drying?

 

I tend to do 3". Gives you a few more options when resawing.

Just a quick one, but if anyone is looking for spalted beech planks, there is a chance that I could mill some top order on a very large log, where to the best of my knowledge, the spalting goes right through without compromising the quality of the timber. PM if interested.

Remember spalted beech is highly carcinogenic.

Family business is organic dairy n cheese; so a nice add on would be for me to make some boards also from the farm. I have some spalted beech.

It's carcinogenic but only as a fine dust if inhaled when working with it - fine for use as chopping boards.

I find this incredibly hard to believe, this carcinegenic nature of fine wood particles due to the pressenced of spalting/mycelium.
