Can anyone tell me how i go about becoming an NPTC trainer/assessor. From what I understand you need to get an already qualified assessor sit in with them and learn from them. But any assessor i have talked to over here is so cagey when asked about it. If nescessary i would go to England, Scotland, Wales to get qualified can anyone help or at least throw a little light on the subject for me.

NPTC dont do training for a starter

I would suggest ringing NPTC for assessor info and Lantra for training.

I believe things change

Contact NPTC and they will sent you the form to fill in to regester your interest and start the process off. Its all in the info that comes with the form. You have to do sometechnical eveauation in the areas you wish to assess. Then there is some assessor training. You can shadow an instructor if you wish.

NPTC only do assessments.

To do training you have to be regestered as a lantra awards person thats a bit harder to get on to.

I think NPTC are cautious about generating too many assessors as the process to them is costly (technical updates, verifications etc etc). There also needs to be a demand for new/additional assessors in an area before the process will start.
