Even pretty well desicated fungi, can usually be identified via it's host & situation.

 

Useful exercise to consider looking at these fung when there not at their prime, as this is usualy when we come across them.

Helps expand the identification skills. :thumbup1:

 

 

Here from a short walk around Burnham earlier today;

 

Chicken of the Woods - Laetiporus sulphureus, on an old dead Oak pollard.

this makes a change, very useful with the desiccated fruiting bodies.

the Clustered Bracket has got me thinking, must check a tree out in the morning. :thumbup1:

i'm going to kick myself on this one i know.......being relatively new fungi freak i wont kick myself too hard but i should know it......i've thought of all the suspects but no use........:blushing:
