i think there the same as tarmac use aswell

the ones tarmac used are not preprogramed but calculate the vibrations themselves are are meant to be attached to anything used even when being transported in the crew bus or using a leader and when your daily or weekly limit is reached its tools down and desk duties or sent home

Update regarding HAV monitoring -

I should have known we don’t live in a perfect world – The electronic HAV tags on the 0200’s don’t last 60 seconds when up a tree, the first bump, knock or flick of a branch and they are off – plummeting to the ground.

The HAV tag on the new 441 works well, until the saw is revved – then it falls off.

They seem to be ok on the other equipment, blowers, pole-saws etc. the big saws haven’t been out yet so more to follow…

We’re reviewing methods of attaching the HAV units to the saws but to be honest the manufactures themselves need to redesign the product if they are to be classed as fit for purpose.

Tbh I couldnt see them lasting very long.

Whats the next plan for getting track?

I really want them to work, in one form or another. One thing we’ve found out is that when you write down your trigger time ‘off the back of your head’ you vastly over-estimate which obviously leads to inaccurate HAV figures.

The units need to be redesigned, they need to be spherical in shape and with stronger magnets. My main fear however is that no-matter what saw you use or how powerful the magnet is, when a saw is revved it’ll hit a certain frequency and its this that causes the unit to drop off.

Time will tell….
