ms200t excessive oiling

One of my 200t is using loads of chain oil, very nearly a tankful with a tank of petrol, doesn't seem to be loads spurting out or anything, only notice when refueling, only happened recently.

Any ideas? cheers:thumbup:

mine have always used that much oil, as long as its not using more than a tank of oil per tank of fuel then its fine.

yeah, it never used to use that much though, and chain oil is expensive!

Have you tried turning the oil feed adjuster down?

I'm not sure how the oil pump works on a MS200, if it pumps only when chain is turning maybe it's because you've been doing heavier work recentely? If the saw is doing a lot of idling it won't use so much oil as chain isn't running so much.

Had the saw for a while now, maybe 2 years, always used about half a tank of oil, no matter what the work is. It's not a major problem, just thought might be a common problem or something?

There's a screw underneath the saw (turn it upside down) that you can turn to turn the oiling amount down.

 

But a tank of oil to a tank of fuel is about right when the oil is turned to max... surely not that expensive on a 200t though!
