Good work Mat. Its nice seeing that line cleared and getting used again. Shame they blew up the bridges! I've used the trail way loads since it opened, so much nicer than being on the road and easier cos its flat.

What ya recon to the yellow stone rolled in on top?

I've not seen the new surface yet Mat. I use the stur to shill section a lot but not since end of last summer. Plan to cycle the whole stretch this yeay now they've opened it around blandford. What do you make of peoples suggestions that the new surface is not great, what do you think of it Mat?

To be honest the surface is very fresh and hasn't been properly weathered/bedded in so the stone is going to be loose on top until it either gets crushed up or moves to the side naturally. Its the road bike brigade doing the complaining because they have such skinny tyres and thin tread the small stones puncture the tyres. But they would also complain if they got punctures on the roads as well so we cant win

Not quite pebbledash but concrete which has been smoothed over where members of the public might brush up against it but it has been left rough on the top of the arch. Health n safety bods said falling bricks was a massive risk as the bridge hadn't been maintained for years. The contractors who did the work said it was the biggest PITA job because of the construction of the bridge and the strength of mortar and bricks.

What do your mates think of the trailway?

They don't seem too bothered, they rent the house from prince Charles any way:lol:
