If you are going to use a 660 for milling, I suggest getting:

  1. High output oil pump. Stihl part number 1122 640 3201.
    See http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/chainsaws/23734-ms-660-oiling-probs.html
  2. Heavy Duty (HD) Air filter and pre-filter. Stihl part numbers 0000 120 1654 and 0000 141 0300 respectively.
    See http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/chainsaws/8589-ms660-ms460-air-filter-upgrades.html and http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/chainsaws/22974-hd-air-filter-ms660.html

I think I'm going to go for the 660. The only question is where to get it from. My local dealer is over a hundred quid more expensive than F R Jones. The trouble is that F R Jones are too far away. Might have to ring them this afternoon and see if I can persuade them to send it via courier.

Get the Dual Port front OEM muffler cover with it, if it isnt on it.

Then when your warranty is out, open the rear pencil eraser sized outlet on the back right muffler case to the size of the deflector. Then drill out or cut out the center cage baffle on inside back of muffler. Make sure carb is re-tuned afterwords and you will have the 660 back where she should be before EPA choked them down.

If I remember rightly, Jones have several "satellite" companies around the country, so there may well be someone nearer than you think. Pm Jonesie on the forum and I'm sure he'll be able to help you.:001_smile: or click on this link: http://www.frjonesandson.co.uk/about/uk-wide-outlets/
