Forestry / Arb - Distance learning

Hi Folks

I am currently in a position where I can further my industry knowledge via further study, I have no formal qualifications in Arb or Forestry but I am educated to level 5 in horticulture. The qualification would have to be delivered via distance learning but currently I dont have much time to research what qualifications are available. I would appreciate any suggestions or feedback anyone may offer as for the best way for me to procede. On a pro-active front, if anyone has any horror stories regarding the delivery of distance learning or alternatively the quality of a particular provider I would also be very grateful.

Arboriculture | RFS

 

I know the RFS Cert and the AA Tech Cert can be done via distance learning. They are the two mid range quals that I'm au fait with. I would say that the RFS Cert would be a good option for you as your previous Hort qual shows that the theory side should be no problem to you and the practical parts of the Cert can be done on a modular basis.

 

I know that the ISA offers something as well, but I don't know much about it

i'm currently doing my FdSc online at Myerscough college and i can say so far that the course is both well delivered and well structured.

 

The FdSc is over 3 years with a further option for your BSc for another 2 years (with honours). I can recommend it if its the arb side of things your looking for
