does it turn from side to side? to put into trailers, trucks?

No, it doesnt, I'd sorted an agricultural swivel plate to allow for this but had concerns over the stability/wringing the chassis. However it is manouverable and I think it should reverse under a truck to allow it to load from there. The main idea of this is to lift trees for planting, then lower them into the treepits in a controlled manner. I just loaded it with a couple of items to check stability, and ensure that I could reverse it accurately to another position. I plan to add a winch to it also.....soon.... to speed up the lift operation. Tho the crane is capable of a 2ton lift, this is to over-compensate, so I should never be anywhere near its limit. The bucket in the last pick is only just manhandleable, yet it can easily move that!

The idea is to reverse to the pits, with the tree suspended above pit. There is plenty of width at the rear to allow for lowering thru the frame. I did consider adding a strut across the legs, but that would compromise the above. Its all "suck it and see", will make any necessary alterations as I find fault with it.
