i know that makita bought dolmar out but are the saws any good.

ive been looking at the 9010, 90 cc,with 30 inch bar for £675 which is a fair bit cheaper than stihl or husky equivelent, any thoughts? mike

good value for money,, but id rather buy a stihl or husky tho as spares are 5 mins up the road whenever i need them which = less down time... makita spares take days to come through and are a pain in the arse to get hold of...

and get well and truly ripped of by Mr Bennet. Parts yes, excellent prices - no.

Re the Makita; I had a DCS7901 the famous angry 79cc'er. Back handle fell apart twice. Went "back" to an MS460 - miles and miles better.

WHAT:confused1:

You want parts in stock AND fantastic value, Hmmmmmmm.

That might be more tricky .

Maybe you just don't ask him right :001_tt2:

(Though, to be honest, every time I have gone to his shop for one thing (like a box of 7/32 files), I have come out with something different (like a countax garden tractor ) :blushing: )

I've a 9010 well worth it in my oppinion. Is a tad heavy but at the end of the day I only use it if I have soimething big to fell or ring up so its not used every day. With a 20 inch bar on it is very functional and I can use it for snedding. With a 29" bar on will ring up big oak and beech quite happily.
