any tipper conversion on a l2oo / hilux/ranger/navara is going to have a poor load carrying capacity, however keep the chip box small and there's no reason why it wouldnt work. he'd be better just buying a regular pickup and getting a tipping trailer.:001_smile:

There are better 4x4s out there steve. I havent heard alot of relly good stuff about l200s when put to heavy work. A ranger would prob be better, and cheaper i believe too. They tow really well, and have a good payload. As you now i dont really rate anything other than the green oval for work ability (payloads, towing abilitty etc etc) but having used most of them at some point I would recommend the ranger (or mazda b2500) in its place. Well worth looking at.

Parts for mitzis are expensive. Worth taking into account.

It is going to be used as his main car through the week, he has a full time squad so he prices and checks up on them, if they are running late or going to be over loaded by a few bits of timber or some chip, then he can chuck it in the back to save a lot of hassle.

Tipping trailers are clumbersome and a pain to store and put on and off yourself unless your yard is flat and roomy, his isnt. He needs a 4x4 as he has been stuck the last 2 weeks but needs one that will earn a crust, stick a big trailer on a 4x4 in the snow and you can forget it

Fair play Stevie, however I wouldn't choose a vehicle based on the weather conditions for 2-3 weeks of the year.

BTW my yard isn't large or flat, but I find hitching my trailer on and off is a doddle.:001_tt2:

Getting out in the snow is a pita though. I'm going to have to drag it out with the tractor tomorrow.:001_smile:

He works the same as me Tom, he frequents a lot of cafes, roll shops and car accessorie shops daily and you dont want to be stuck with a trailer on trying to get parked when the tummy is rumbling. His yard is 25 mins from his house in the other direction to where the work is, he has had the ford ranger, land rover, chevy plus trailer. Didnt suit:thumbdown:

Last year we had this weather for 3 months
