i was just wondering chaps if i might be in the right place to ask? does anybody have advice or views on the best rope to use on a friction hitch i have New England Hi-Vee rope and use a klemheist and a present im using beal and i fear it may be a little Inferior to the newer ropes

best thing you can do is buy a piece of each cord at the next show and try them all out....what works well for one wont work for another.....if you like the diameter of the beal regate though i'd recommend you try out yales new offering in that size range.

I quite liked the 8mm marlow doublebraid when I used Hi-Vee. Cheap as chips and grips really well, recommended to me by Mr Bullman.

cheers lads good advice i feel. i was also wondering what combinations of ropes are other climbers using is there a popular one or are were all very diverse ?

for me its blaze rope and armor prus 8mm hitch cord.
