novel idea!wouldnt work here you'd get electrocuted:thumbdown:

Not unless the operator made phase to ground connection.

For roadway clearance it has merit, for electrical line clearance there are plenty of issues to solve.

Sounds like the perfect description of the chipbus :001_tongue:

Adding a top-loading chipper on the back with a large intake funnel would finish it off.

If more side-reach were needed side platforms could be added that tipped out using hydraulics. Heck, with some structural support inside a boom platform could be configured. super simple!

Workshop downbelow with range for tea/coffee. Bunks for overnight work...options are endless!

Blaming the bus for making bad cuts isn't fair. Blame the operator not the tool :scared1:

What happens when the target pruning point is either too high or too far off to the side? Stub it maybe?

there is a bus in our area and they have produced the worst pruning cuts i have ever seen all done by bow saw and not allowed to lean over side of bus and all done by untrained guys.

The bus is covering all west yorkshire eventually which is very worrying and has caused many many complaints

a small mewp would do a much better job and a lot faster and hopefully they would have to recieve a bit more training

I once saw the smaller version of the bus. A double cab tranny with a couple of good old boys (you know the sort, tree cutters for about a gazillion years) one drives while the other one stands on the roof with a power pruner doing a slow drive by. Their company was contracted by the LA for all the landscaping and unfortunatly that includes trees.
