we were looking at that kinda thing but on a 20t 360. on a large site clearance why climb when a bit cutty engine will do it. especially in winter

Apparently you do not need a large excavator as you do not hang onto the tree once it is cut you just rotate the head which drops the tree to the left. The other make of tree shears hang on to the tree which is when you have problems if the excavator is to small.

John, Take my word on this, the 3 tonner will be WAY to small. They are designed for skidsteer mounting, and a skidsteer will handle the weight far better than an excvator.

If you put that on a 3 ton swing, I'd run and hide. Too small and not enough power through the standard aux circuit.
