Not used my real name as i already had a username from another forum that i've used for the last 10 years so why change.

I always introduce myself as recceboy then say my real name to people i have met.

I think it all comes from the old AOL days of online chat rooms and people wishing to be anonymous.

I used my first name in my username on here but kept it at that because you never know who is looking on this website, be it in the members section or the public area on here. That isn't paranoia, I've seen mates of mine who work in IT pull up a persons entire postal address just from the IP address, so I don't really feel like advertising it on a site thats work related giving access to my full name along with the potential for all my details to be pulled up by someone whos IT savvy, ID theft is pretty prevalent these days and not being vigiliant is kinda like egging them on.

Besides, when you do meet folks like a lot of you fellas have, you all know each others proper names/where you live, its a lot more private so does it really matter if they have full name on here ?

Just my tuppence.
