Cheers Drew,

look forward to it.

Am interested in seeing how much functioning sound wood there may be, around that exposed heartwood.

D

no worries david,

on the stem that failed, the wood was just crap. hence the hasty takedown.

Acmena we removed just before christmas.Right next to avery busy 4 lane CBD junction. The only thing that held the two stems together was 2 cables. the fruiting bodies came out of virtually every wound from ground right up to the upper canopy. tree was removed with 50/50 climbing v EWP operator. was nice to see this tree finally gone.

wont that just give the predators somewhere to stand saving there feet getting wet.

lol

hmmm bugger, will have to go back and take it out now :blushing:

in all seriousness it means that the fish have some cover the swim through and under to reduce the effect of goosanders, basically about a 100years of removing all the vegetation from the river has stuffed it for fish and other wildlife which is why wild brown trout are now a biodiveristy priority species :scared1:
