A collegue of mine did move a big Crataegus lavallei ‘Carrierei’ which is rated 1 of 10 most interesting trees in Sweden. A very rare tree indeed and was planted around 1938.

A project that has been prepared and started 5 years ago.

They were moving the tree to a group of trees as the shoppingcentre is beeing rebuilt and the tree was moved to an area where there will be a park. The tree is fine, was moved february this year so future will tell. At least three years of watering and maintenence will follow...

Can't believe that guy on the right hand side found time to become engaged in a snow ball fight @ 01:42 mins.

Lol I never saw that snowball:lol:

I will have a look at the tree next time I go to Malmö. I met Örjan, the guy on TV day before yesterday I wanted to chat to him about moving some trees... IKEA is building a new store in my town and its affecting a lot of trees and I´m looking into the possibility to relocating some of them.

He pointed out that this snippet was online.
