I would work out how many days it will take

or how many you think you can do in a day

work out how long it will take and how much you want per day. Individual tree pricing just gets confusing for me, blanket price wham bam. If you need lets say £500 a day usually and if this consists of 2-3 jobs and a lot of driving about and taking stuff home then say this big job was 5 full days on site would be £350 a day.

If you work out your day rate as stephen says £500 a day. I think this is the right price for two good guys you stand much better chance of winning job putting in a good day than pricing per tree. Pricing per tree is nice to know as you progress throughout the day + keeps you motivated but pushes price too high I usually find.

i came up with somthing around £2000/2500 based on £100 per tree. its an easy site and the trees are a boundry between two fields so nothing to break , easy access aswell, i think 5 - 7 days depending on the weather, so does that price seem fair or a bit steep ?

the problem with pricing per tree is you are working out an average time. if the customer decides to just have the biggest nastiest trees down you'll be out of pocket.

I have just won a large job pollarding 36 poplars by 30ft. I priced the job by working out a day rate for me, another climber, groundy, etc etc. Some of the trees are easy but some are going to be pigs so pricing per tree is going to be a nightmare as they are all different.
