As regarding towing 3500kg, if your truck is not PERMANENT 4wheel drive, there is NO CHANCE you can legally tow 3500kg, which is why landrover products are JUST ABOUT the only ones that can tow that weight.

I thought I would add to this thread about tow capacity for the Hilux.

 

New models are now rated to tow 2500kg instead of 2250kg They have redesigned the tow hitch attacement plate to give the higher capacity.

That is an atrocious towing capacity. An ifor tipping trailer weighs 1 of those 2.5 tons empty!! They really need to beef up the chassis on those Jap motors, then they might be worth a thought for serious work.
