Punctuality!!- Always a winner in my book along with a good handshake and polished shoes - but maybe not the latter for an arb'

Absolutely..Being on time, and being polite is a big plus for any tradesman, and in my experience if you cannot start work on the day you agreed with the customer, tell them asap and tell the truth, most people cant spot a liar miles off, and that deffinately is'nt good for business:thumbup::thumbup:

You only get out as much as you put in. If you are prepared to work at it, and you do not have too many family commitments then in the long run it will work. Do not be afraid to pimp yourself to all and sundry, it is amazing where work turns up from. Try not to specialize on one thing, as variety is the spice of life.

don't be toooooo choosy as to what you do to start with!!

i've had subbies come for a couple of days tree work, then, when offered a couple more days gardening (at the same rate) they've turned their noses up.

swinging a strimmer around is a damn site easier than swinging around in tree !!!!!
