Funny John, i wondered about posting this on here!

Looks like the guy has the art mastered and i dare say it will save you getting as knackered.

If I were to be critical at all though, it does look like he gets a little close to his leg with the bar sometimes and walking forward while cutting should not be promoted:sneaky2:

Really interesting to see something new now and then:thumbup1:

my saw doesn't move that fast, wonder if its lazy? can't help thinking my bigger dogs (which are ace) will dig into the trunk a bit too much, he didn't have any on the right hand side of his saw and slid it along on that bit. gotta love the stihl tracksuit though..

ive always been taught that method

thats the way i have always delimbed trees, the secret is the weight of the saw is on the tree much of the time

Mmmm, but were you guys not taught to use the chain brake before walking forward and not using the saw to "pull" it forward?

Things have maybe changed since i did my tickets:001_rolleyes:

Wow! Things must have changed over here.

Stevie, the way i was taught, it was unsafe to "walk" without the chainbrake on. Either with bar on your side or not. The reason being if you stumble or fall the saw can easily fall with you, regardless of what side of the spar it was at:confused1:

Maybe he saw how clumsy you were and told you diferent for your own safety

:001_tt2:

Not sure what year mine were but i think it was half a lifetime before you:001_rolleyes:

Im not wanting to diss the thread or vid, im quite impressed by it. Just didnt want it being portrayed as safe practice to lesser experienced if it wasnt:001_smile:
