Has anyone had any experience with the Kronos Trailer sold by A C Price ??

I'm quite interested in the Kronos 160 driven trailer, Kronos

They appear to be a much heavier construction than most forwarding trailer and look more suited to forestry work.

Shall be contacting A C Price this week for pricing..

Any thoughts most welcome,

Looked good at APF the other day, solid , I think the one at the show was sold so there may be some one to ask, there was one thing I thought was a bit? But can’t remember what it was now, if it springs to mind I’ll let you know. Good luck with decision! Cheers J

I saw these at A C Price at the APF and had a good talk to one of the guys about them.

The do look most robust close up and have some nice features like adjustable headboards and steering drawbars. I have unfortuantly taken the price list and brosure to work so i can't tell you how much they are. From what i remember there were expensive, more than a botex at least.

You do get some nice option on the crane though upto 9m reach. Its one of the 4 trailers i'm considering. the others are a botex, Kesla and the Riko ones.

I'm sure it was sold too and the 200hp valtra for it too. They put it together in two days or something to take it to the show.

I'm just wondering how much volume we can fit on the trailer and what weight that realistically equates to..

I have a Logbus 110D trailer and crane combo at the moment, which is supposedly a 10t trailer, but in normal thinnings, firewood thinnings etc I would rekon when she's full to the gunnels she's still only taking out roughly 4t at a time.

I'll give Alex a shout this week and see what he's saying price wise..

As little as that i'd think 6-8 would be around the right figure. I've found with firewood you only need a few crooked bendy bits to waste a whole load of space in the trailer. We get a good load of 4.2m larch saw longs on our trailer about 25. But fill it with 8' firewood and its nowhere nears as much.

Generally speaking, the weight quoted by a manufacturer is the gross weight of the trailer, including the weight of the trailer, the crane and the load - but on a 10 tonne trailer I'd have said you'd want to be able to squeeze a good 7 tonne of straight sawlogs on - as mentioned the post above - a few crooked stems will soon knock the weight down.

We must be down to somewhere in the region of 4t taking out firewood and somewhere around 6t maybe in sawlogs..

Matt, you can only take out a load at a time no matter what the weight is. If you were working in Oak then the tonnage would increase but the cubic metreage would be the similar.

Hope you're well
