110 chipper thoughts?

i saw this and thought the same about the chip box.

 

the hopper is about the same height as usual its just hinged up.

 

after spending many an hour towing towalongs behind my 90 and getting stuck, i think it has some uses tho they are limited.

I would imagine it would be great for utility work where farmers dont want piles of chip leaving around their fields.

Tbh I didnt notice, and B101 has a good point about the pto, I didnt think of that, would have been a cheaper and more sensible (?) idea

Utterly stupid and poorly thought out, Land Rovers do have PTO’s so there is no need for a dedicated chipper engine

 

L/R PTO’s run through the gearbox and are fine for a winch or running a pump but do you think the gearbox is up to a 2 hour (?) daily wood chipper punishing?

Well except nicely cut up logs.

 

Plus you aint dragging a chipper around and over ruts pot holes etc or reversing it back down narrow paths.

In all the time I've worked across farmland I've never had an issue with them over this, what they dont like is a big pile of mess left in their way, hell they've even supplied tractor and trailer to chip into so they can use it!
