O.k guys and Girls, my 4 month old Fuji finepix S1500 is up for grabs over the months of october/November for the best image of a fungi posted herein:thumbup:

....

I hope this image wasnt taken in 2007 though!

recent for this comp images only and no cheating, i trust you lot!

I have a photo that I would upload but I think it is too old as it was taken in November 2008.... but being pedantic the competition doesn't start until tomorrow so no valid entries so far. I must remember to take my camera with me tomorrow! ;)

Like the competition by the way

darren, Did your green fungi have gills? did it have a ring? around the stem/stipe?

I can see it has a bulbous base, a good key feature, but i am very keen to suss this one out as at this moment I havent a clue, it is VERY unusual.

if you can get one dry it out and send to kews herbarium dept, If you do and you get some posative ident this would be well in the running!

Your tiny thing is a parachute of sorts

Sparassis crispa is getting a thumbs up!

Why am I thoroughly enjoying searching for fungi?

The (green?) one was actually more like a bright blue? Can you give me any tips on how to dry out? And an address at kew to send it to?

Many thanks. I'm addicted. Wish my iPhone would zoom closer and really emphasise the colours.
