Oh thats a corker! a fine example, one of my favourites the chicken.

i've seen some fungus on a small birch across the road from me about 4 houses up. The fung in question is purple and growing all over the trunk and looks like lots of mini brackets. The tree is only about 8 inches across and was literally "topped" about 3-4 years ago at 5-6' there has been little growth since but it is still alive.

 

It is only a small front garden and there is a small hedge in front of it, i felt a bit daft going on knocking on the door asking if i could take a piccy of it haha and didn't want to take a quick sly one as the blinds where open:blushing:

 

what do you reckon it could be? it could be purple toothed polypore but i may be well wide off the mark as i haven't inspected it closely:thumbdown:

Being a little cheeky and bold by nature i often just carry on regardless, i have yet to find anyone even remotley dissatisfied with my pressence when tactfully stating my point and purpose. this has often led to work and or oportunities that had i not dared to tread i may never have had.

 

The moral here is just do what it is that YOU do, people are fascinated when something is revealed to them, and you never know, one day that man or woman who asks you what the hell you think your doing may just turn out to be a very wealthy lord with huge tracks of forested land and a personal passion for ecology/conservation.

 

Cheeky charm and passion for your subject will open more doors than anything else:001_cool:
