Hi hamadryad i have recently took some fungi pictures on my phone i will try to work out how to get from phone to computer to arbtalk site not that good with these computer things. but getting better slowly!!

Dar, I'm of the persuasion these days that a confirmation of any kind based on just a photo, (especially one that gets thrown in upside down ) is a bit of a minefield.

 

Even when it appears to be pretty easy, like with the two similar Ganos.

 

If I had to go with a hunch, ( I'm relatively new to this I'd thing ) i'd say adspersum/australe, due mostly to the thicker rim.

Some fung have the ability to morph into something you don't expect in certain situations.

 

 

Maybe the more convicted Hama will entertain you with a stouter answer.

I will give you a Australe, and be 99% certain, its as david says thicker in lip and the new layer is being added that is consitent with the Australe rather than applanatum.

Yeah, I thought that, especially on Birch.

 

 

They do look a little similar, even if Purple jellydisc is more gelatinous.
