Well as it's upside down, I'd say it's more than likely Ganoderma "australe" :001_tongue:

See this is why I never venture into this dark damp corner of arbtalk. I get made to feel stooopid. Im sure it was on the tree that way.:blushing:

 

 

Is this better???? It was about the size of a small dog.

Monkey D - without any more fungi head blagging chitter chatter, is that picture of a ganoderma applanatum??????????????

 

Dar, I'm of the persuasion these days that a confirmation of any kind based on just a photo, (especially one that gets thrown in upside down :lol:) is a bit of a minefield.

 

Even when it appears to be pretty easy, like with the two similar Ganos.

 

If I had to go with a hunch, ( I'm relatively new to this I'd thing :biggrin:) i'd say adspersum/australe, due mostly to the thicker rim.

Some fung have the ability to morph into something you don't expect in certain situations.

 

 

Maybe the more convicted Hama will entertain you with a stouter answer. :thumbup1:

 

Plus, it is his thread :blushing:
