I think its hideous. Its a really 'dead' feeling rope too, heavy and unpleasant, aside from the 6 month thing. Its a great rope until you try something (anthing) else, and you realise how horrible it is.

dose anyone on here use yale fire climbing rope i was looking at getting one soon just wanted to know if any of you use itand how you find it

Gecko is utterly rubbish mate. Much better ropes on the market for not a whole lot more, but every penny spent over the price of the Gecko will be money well spent.

 

Haven't use the Yale fire but had a go on a workmates Yale Ice and reckon it's the nicest rope I've ever climbed on. If I hadn't just bought a tachyon I'd be getting some today.

buy cheap pay twice is not the best rope and i wouldnt even want to use it as a light lowering rope. I would buy some yale xtc like the honey bee its not that much more in cost.
