Hi, a book you could consider is 'Principles of tree hazard assessment and management' by David Lonsdale, which has a section on pruning or try one of the Alex Shigo books, there's a very good one on not how to prune, if memory serves me right! I take it you know about Natural Target Pruning, given youre RHS cert on fruit trees? Most trees should be pruned whilst dormant, academically this is sound but in practice near impossible unless you have something else to do during Spring/Summer :001_smile: The info is out there, probs on this site, seek and you will find:001_smile:

Yeah thats a good one! Its called 'The pruning of trees, shrubs and conifers' originaly written by George Brown and revised by Tony kirkam. Great book, it has a pretty big alphabetical list of genera's and how and when each should be prunned near the back, theres something like 400 odd. Should keep you busy for awhile eh!
