Dare I say it ?!

Oregon bars (not chains) seem to have reduced in quality. I only say this because this has come up in conversation with other users in the last wee while... Bars don't seem to last as long - as if the metal is softer...:confused1:

i've noticed this to, bought my granddad a 20" oregon bar for his 440 a while back and it has certainly worn quicker than the old stihl one that was on there

I have always preferred stihl chain over oregon till they brought out their new stuff at the end of last year, with bigger teeth and steeper angle of top plate, now i wont look at stihl.

Although i cant comment on the longevity of stihl or husky bars, I do rate the oregons over stihl, as they dont kick back as much when using the nose of the bar. The stihls have a very flat nose and quite a sharp top corner comapred to the oregons.
