You wouldn't go far wrong with a stihl 361 mine's taken a hammering and is even still running with a crack to the back section of the crank case after a swing that resulted it needing a new flyweel, as for bars I run a 16 and 20 on it but have heard of others running up to a 25 I doubt if it cuts very fast with a bar of that size but it can be done.

What size timber do you expect to be cutting with it most?

i use to have a 024 with a 16inch bar for everything. i got offered a job witch i done most of the work on this site apart from a row of pops had to get someone else in to do them to pollard didnt climb at this point anyway. i took 2 days off work to watch and ask Q and see if i could learn somthing, the groundy roped me in both days to help (i always keeped me 024 with me) the man on the ground called fred (use to be josh groundy) he ran a 460 with a 20inch bar i asked why run such a big saw 2 reasons he said 20inch bar saves u from bending ur back and it has the power to do most trees u would want to fell sorry about the long story

anyway since then i have brought a 441 run a 20 on it i would never change that saw pick it up everytime buy a 441 20inch bar mate :thumbup1::thumbup1:

Mobnkey boys, from reading your threads, I would SERIOUSLY suggest that you attend some sort of college or chainsaw training course, as I fear that you are heading for major trouble, either in the manner of yours or someone elses safety (or even loss of life!!!!) or legal problems, and there are some massive fines in the offing if you arent careful.....

You really cant just go out and buy a load of kit and start killing trees with no training of some sort (be it on the job or through a training provider) just on what you learn here. I cannot stress this enough.
