shame, that Oak is on the way out, and no amount od pruning will sort it

Canopy won't sustain itself. But epi on the trunk is seemingly vital.

I would reduce it in maybe three phases, if it was on my patch.

But then, I'd be happy to manage it as standing dead if it didn't survive any works.

It's in Mill Hill, toward the top of Hammers lane, if you're ever in the area.

  • 2 weeks later...

Had to get out of the house for thirty minutes this morning.

Thought, I know, i'll go ave a look at that bracket I glimpsed out of the corner of me eye the other day..............................I know, I know :blushing:

Any hoos, was doin me thing, when the lady of the adjacent property comes out of the door & says, are you from the council?

Is there a problem?

"Sunday morning in me civies driving a honda at 08:00 hrs..........hardly the council now am I luv" says I

"I spoke to the council about this tree last year, it's been dropping twigs & leaves all over my front garden" - says she :001_rolleyes:

"Spoke to a nice man called Mr 'Branch' " - she says, I kid you not !!!!

"No I'm just kind of weird, I'm a local that's in to Fungi, is all.

I'd be a little more concerned about the decay that will probably cause this tree to snap in half, than a few twigs to be honest" say I

"Oh right, hadn't noticed it. I'd better call them again tomorrow then"

Think I'll pop an invoice in the letter box later

Desicated hispidus, I'd of thought.............
