Crazy I could believe it when I was told, is the price of scrap that good?

 

Yep - Run of the mill scrap is £160 a tonne. Ali copper, brass etc is massive amounts more than that

I got £175 last week. Ally is £620 Copper is £4200

I've been on a few sites where dumper drivers collect copper from spare wire. one guy claimed to have mede 3k doing it.

there was a skip next to the job we are doing .we had 3 truck pull up to have a route through it .Shame i was working over the top of it ,well it seemed to put them off.

My mate in York said theres been a recent spate of cars getting their catalysts sawn off at night!

Apparantly theres some heavy metal in them that makes them valuable - first he heard about it was when the local exhaust place offered a discount if they could keep the old cat when you bought a new one.

I,ve got 500m of 16mm square copper wire I've started stripping and I've another few hundred weight to strip.

 

Made a little tool and managed to strip 300m so far.

 

Should be in for a tidy sum, 3 hundred weight is about 6 or 7 hundred quid ??
