Started pricing for this winters work and have been asked to quote for some Midland style hedge laying which we would sub contract to a specialist, does anyone know the rough price per metre for the coming season

Cheers

Depends whether it's a nice young hedge or a big old gnarly critter. I reckon anything from £10 to £20+ on the worst. Are you supplying the wrappers?

Jeez I'm way to cheap again  I usually charge between £5 and £8 a metre including stakes, binding would be extra and burning up is extra £1 a metre or a day at tractor rate whichever is more :001_cool:

Depends where you are I think. I was putting out sample quotes for 5-20 yr old at £12/m, to include stakes, binders and chipping all brash and removing other waste; I still got undercut, and that was by a firm who subbed it out.

The best one used to be farmers trying to get you to do it for the same as they got on the Countryside Stewardship which was about £3-3.50 metre, most of those hedges were a minimum of 15ft high :001_cool:
