Quite agree. Loving the pics of the chestnut and beech with the holes and twists in them Dave from last year, and the bluebells from both years are amazing. I must take a trip to the woods i was in a few weeks back. The bluebells wer only just starting to flower, but the floor was carpeted with them.

Last day till the New Year for a couple of us, so spent the day tying up some loose threads before retreating to the nest for festive family frivolities

Took a trip to a local woods today, that I've been meaning to visit for a good while.

 

Northaw Great Wood

 

Mainly Hornbeam pollard/Oak/Swetchestnut coppice.

 

Welwyn Hatfield: Northaw Great Wood

 

The lads loved it, and the wife got a few hours to her self, win win

Boys are still quite young really, but I'm driven to make it more interesting for them to interact with whats out and about than in the confines of their bedrooms.

 

The whoops of delight when they come across something and holla dad, dad, look fungis !! makes me think It's getting through to them
